Artemether (English: Artemether) is an antimalarial drug used to treat multidrug-resistant Plasmodium falciparum malaria. Novartis is the first to sell its compound medicine combined with Benfluorenol under its trade names with Riamet and Coartem. Chemically, artemether is a semi-synthetic derivative of artemisinin. Artesunate is included in the World Health Organization's standard list of essential medicines and is one of the most important essential health medicines.
